I WAS_NOW I AM_ began with stories of personal transformation.

This is where you add yours

A Culture of Repair begins when we make space for the whole story — what broke, what changed, what we learned, and what we choose to do next.

We invite you to share a moment from your own experience of repair: with yourself, another person, a community, or the world around you. Your story does not have to be finished. Repair rarely is.

We’ve partnered with The Stories of Us, using Remento’s Speech-to-Story technology to make it easier to tell your story in your own words.

A living archive of stories about repair, change, and becoming.

Before you begin

There is no single way to tell a story of repair. You may be describing something you have repaired, something you are still working through, a moment when your perspective changed, or a relationship that taught you something about accountability, forgiveness, responsibility, or belonging.

To begin, choose a question below and tap Add Your Story. Then follow the prompts to record your response using your voice, or voice and video.

When you’re finished, enter your email address and your story will be sent to you. This usually takes just a few minutes. You’ll receive a link to review, edit, and approve it before it’s shared on the platform.

Share only what feels right to you. You are always in control of what you choose to tell.

NOW I AM_ believes people are more than the worst thing they have done, the hardest thing they have lived through, or the labels others have placed on them. These stories are an invitation to see one another — and ourselves — with greater complexity.

Some important things before you begin:

  • You may participate in English or Spanish, with more languages coming soon.
  • Story submissions are intended for individuals 13 years and older.
  • If you choose to share, you will have an opportunity to review and approve your story before any public sharing.
  • Recording happens on Remento, and any email about your story will come from The Stories of Us.
