Dictionary definition of repair

What would it look like if America embraced a culture of repair?

NOW I AM_ is expanding into a multi-media storytelling platform exploring one of the most urgent cultural questions of our time: what happens after harm? In a country shaped by polarization, distrust, trauma, and division, we need more than awareness. We need a new cultural understanding of repair - one that makes room for accountability and humanity, grief and growth, truth and transformation.

This expansion is designed to create value around repair itself: not as weakness, avoidance, or forced reconciliation, but as an exercise of curiosity that can strengthen individuals, relationships, communities, and society.

Through film, audio, essays, immersive storytelling, reflection, and community dialogue, NOW I AM_ will explore what it means to move through harm - and what becomes possible when people believe change is still possible.

Our hero film, The Meaning of Forgiveness, begins that conversation. It invites us to consider repair not as a single moment, but as a journey: reckoning with what happened, understanding who we became in response, making amends to make space for something different on the other side.

Culture is shaped by what we normalize. If America is going to move beyond cycles of fracture, resentment, and dehumanization, we have to begin telling stories that help us imagine something else. A culture of repair begins with the willingness to see ourselves - and each other - as still becoming.
